Burro Loco Mexican Restaurant in Anderson

If you want good Mexican, this is the place in Anderson. Nothing fancy from the outside, but the food is excellent. Used to be a bike shop, I think, or something similar. Now, a cozy place with great food. I was raised in L.A. and I know good Mexican. Plenty of parking nearby at night in businesses's parking lots and they aren't open so they don't care. Walking distance to the Mainstage Theater, which you should visit for the wonderful productions with good local talent. Walking distance to other downtown venues, like the Paramount. Go there. Trust me. The picture is the top shelf Margarita, which is filled with citrus. Very smooth, very potent. Numerous sizes for everybody.

I came back today right around 2:30pm at the end of their lunch rush. I found the place clean and the staff friendly. They quickly attend to my party. There were a couple of special requests on food. When the food did arrive everyone and everything was just as it should be! We are going to go back next week. Looking forward to it!!

Awesome food fair price. Chicken enchiladas all day long. The salsa deserves an honorable mention as well. Certainly best in Anderson and better than anything I've had on the north side of Indy.

I loved this place the last time we visited. Prices are great, food good. The problem I have is that there isn’t any info online as to when they are closed on Holidays etc. I’m trying to plan an evening out on Christmas Eve. What time do you close? Do you take reservations? They don’t say online..... and they don’t answer the phone at 11:00 in the afternoon to tell you!!!!! Frustrating.

Place seems to be going downhill a bit. We ordered lunch today, and it was cold when we got it. We order quite often from here, a bit disappointing. Also, staff doesn't seem as friendly lately.

Great place and cheap priced for what you get! The food is great TASTING 😍👍Paella is what I get, look at the pictures of it. The rest of their food is great also. The only Mexican restaurant I will go to in Madison County.

I've eaten here too many times to count, and everytime the service and food is outstanding. Everything is reasonably priced and the chips and salsa are good. The margaritas here arent the best I've ever had, but they're very good. I also like the decor and everything is always clean as far as I can tell. Overall, this is a stellar Mexican resteraunt.

So..much..food!! I stumbled across this place after asking some friends about it. I ordered my food for takeout and recieved so much food! I was impressed by the quality and quantity of the food! Very delicious, will be having this again!

A bit of a wait, but very fast service and great food! Server was a bit slow to check on us and bring the bill, but I hesitate to judge a place on one server and one experience, we'll be back!

The handmade tortilla chips are the best! Salsa seems like it's made differently each time. The flavor is slightly different each time but is usually heavy on the cilantro. I always order a taco from the a la carte menu. The corn tortilla shell is the best! I had the taquitos this time around, which were a little overdone and oily but every other item I've had has been on point.

Food was fresh and good. Shrimp were perfectly cooked and they did not skimp on the avocado.Margarita was good.Only draw back is the menu items and atmosphere feel exactly like several other Mexican restaurants that are closer to my home. Nothing to make me want to drive past those places to make this a regular go to spot. If close, give it a try.

Absolutely terrible!!! Worst experience ever. Waiter was absolutely rude. No care in the world about us. Had to go find him for a refill. He acted like we were an inconvenience to him. Then our food came out. Boy if I thought the service was bad, wait till you get the food🤮. My wife nachos looked liked pig slop!!

Great Mexican food

Best Mexican restaurant in Madison County. The white chicken burrito is amazing! Staff is always friendly.

Our food was decent, but we had the worst waiter! What happened to working for your tip? Poor service has left me no choice but to give them 2 stars. If it weren't for the food bringing the score up I would only award them 1.

Their food is great but they had a long wait at the door and they were coming to our table like they were rushing us to leave. They were very pushy about us leaving. We go out to relax and just enjoy ourselves and the money we spent was not worth it for feeling like we were being rushed out. We probably won't go again. We will go somewhere else even if the cost is double to avoid the pushiness. We will even drive an hour away if we have to. This place is all about getting people in and out and is VERY small. It's great if you go when they're not busy. Even when their not busy the server isn't great, and act like they can't wait till you leave. I've been a server for years and wouldn't recommend this place if your going out to have a good time for a date or family event. They want you to eat and leave.

Very nice place to eat in downtown Anderson. Huge portions great prices. Two ate there 40 bucks plus took home enough for another meal. Last week ate at RED L. nothing to bring home 110 bucks. Had seafood fajitas at Burro Loco. Tell me where I'm goin back to. Not out on Scatterfield Rd.

Burro Loco is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The only problem I have is deciding what to order.

My personal preferred place to eat ! The food and drinks are well prepared , served in a timely manner , these guys work hard. They are always attentive and show great manners to their customers.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. The restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. It was very crowded and we were seated quickly and received the food quickly but we were never checked on by the waiter. We had been done eating for about 10 minutes when we finally got the bill and had to stand in line for a good bit while we were waiting to pay. Overall great experience but took a bit longer than expected due to how busy the restaurant was.

We came here cause its popular with the locals I asked but honestly I dont know why. The staff was okay, and the food was just okay as well, pretty bland. The food came out quickly but suspiciously quick and after biting into my food and it being almost cold it just solidified my suspicion that the food is not cooked to order at all. I would suggest la nueva charreada instead, just a couple min. Away and a whole lot better.

The food we had at Burro Loco wasn't bad; it wasn't poorly cooked and the ingredients seemed fine. However, everything we had was bland and tasteless. I don't know if this is a deliberate choice or if the staff has just overly "Americanized" the food, but it lacked any kind of interesting flavor. The front of house staff also seemed to be spread too thin to really support the number of tables they had. The decor is better than average and there is an extensive menu, but if you are looking for complex flavors or memorable meals I would look elsewhere.

This place has excellent Mexican food. Best place I have found in Anderson! Doesn't look like much from the outside. But well worth it!
